Vantaggi
I love working at Zapproved. I never thought I'd work at a place where, even after a bad day, I'm always excited to go to work in the morning. Things are changing so quickly and this is an incredibly exciting time for the company. It's a blast to be a part of. The mindset here is totally that of "work hard, play hard". Every employee understands that we're in a period of heads down, get work done, but it doesn't mean that there isn't time for celebration. While we certainly have big goals at Zapproved, we celebrate the little wins across the company (an employee's 5 year anniversary, for example, which is pretty big at an 8 year old company). I feel appreciated, valued, and trusted by my peers and the leadership team. There isn't a lot of structure or formal policies. I don't feel like I'm being babysat. I come into work within the same hour time frame everyday and leave when my work is finished (sometimes that's 2pm, sometimes I stay late). If I want to take a day off of work, I put it on my calendar and let my manager know. I don't need to put in for time off or worry if I have enough vacation days. I'm accountable for the work I do, and the manner I get it done isn't as important. I feel like I really am empowered to work however I feel is most effective.
Svantaggi
As with any small company, the benefits aren't super amazing (but they get better every year). Sometimes, people can't be in the office. It is difficult if you have to work remotely. Working at a technology company in 2016, there shouldn't be obstacles to working from home.
