Vantaggi

Nice people, good products, great employee discount, decent work/life balance. Overall it's not a bad place to work, but don't expect any perks, any recognition, or any staffing help to aid you in your job. They want to be Amazon or Zappos but want to get there on a startup budget and staff. That means you'll do 4 people's jobs for less pay than what you would receive elsewhere to do 1 job.

Svantaggi

Pay is too low (look elsewhere if you want to be paid what you're worth), stability of company up in the air, management particularly C-level and VP are too hands on (meddling), many pipe dreams but no clear direction, high turnover, layoffs too frequent, not enough staff to meet high expectations of work output, HR issues involving senior staff that while now are gone were overlooked for too long.

Vantaggi

-New technologies are being implemented (cloud architecture, microservices...) -Microsoft centered so you won't be fighting to find open source solutions. -Decent benefits. -Summer hours (every other Friday is a half-day). -Bring your dog to work on Friday. -Happy hours every Friday. -Really cool people to work with. -Food trucks in the summer. -Competitive Pay. -Good work/life balance. Most people leave their jobs at the office. -Everyone below management feels as if they are part of a team.

Svantaggi

eBags used to be a company that was one of the best in the city for IT/Development jobs. Since some shifts in management and attrition, it has slowly been on a downward spiral. -Working from home is now frowned up. -Doctor or personal appointments must be scheduled outside of work hours. -Charts with the stats on working from home, sick time and being late to work are now part of the email rotation to the whole department. -I suspect there will be a requirement for clocking in and out for all employees in the near future. -The micromanagement has gotten way out of hand. Innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit no longer seem to be the driving force. If you have an opinion that doesn't align with the micromanagement style, you will be called out, belittled and lectured to the point where you just submit. -Attrition is becoming a problem. Most all can be traced back to the micromanagement. -The future under Samsonite is very iffy.
