Svantaggi
Everything else. A typical day involves sticking your head in Female Sanitary bins and nappy bins and rarely replenishing washroom products like soaps. 90% of the work is bins. There is no progression, the managers can be alright but I reckon it’s because they are puppets on strings being controlled by clueless senior management. Target, spreadsheet driven. Have no clue about the job and wouldn’t last 5 minutes in the world of a driver. The fellow colleagues/drivers are decent people for the most part, but you will only see them when you’re at the depot which is 1 or 2 times a week for 30 mins at a time. You are forced to do overtime at standard rate. The bonus is pathetic, to achieve full bonus you would have to work like an extra hour a day at full capacity to the point where you are exhausted all for around £30 extra a month. You’re silly if you actually achieve this. This is accrued and paid quarterly, so you’ll usually expect to see about £40-£100 every 3 months. The pay is barely above minimum and it’s just not worth it for all the responsibility and potential dangers you put yourself in such as coming into contact with sharps/syringes. It’s just not worth it. A lot of drivers unfortunately do get needle stick injuries it’s almost unavoidable since you have to handle bags of waste. In the old days you would remove the whole bin as a unit and you wouldn’t have to handle the contents, since this change your workload is ridiculous and your health is disregarded. The drivers make most the money for the company, yet they are treated and unreasonably rewarded with terrible pay and conditions for their efforts. While the ones above you line their pockets. Utter greed! The only good thing is roughly on average 8-9hr days anywhere from on average 5am-4pm.
