We are proud to announce that Mark D. Sparta will become our new chief operating officer, effective July 2, 2025. Mark has remained an inspiring example of who we are at Hackensack Meridian Health, from his career beginnings as a physical therapist in our network more than 30 years ago to his exemplary service as the president of our northern market. Among many notable accomplishments, Mark was driving force behind the development of the Helena Theurer Pavilion at Hackensack University Medical Center and expanding our ambulatory and urgent care footprint in the north. Under his leadership, Hackensack University Medical Center has achieved a 5 Star Rating from CMS, and U.S. News & World Report ranked Hackensack University Medical Center the number one adult hospital and Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital as the number one children’s hospital in New Jersey. We are beyond grateful for the many years of committed service in this role by Mark Stauder. Mark Sparta is a fitting successor, and we look forward to the characteristic commitment and expertise he will bring to the role.
