Processo molto intenso ma che valuta il candidato oltre le sue conoscenze tecniche. La persona viene valutata sul come affronta i problemi e quali esperienze porta con se per trovare soluzioni rapide, efficaci e cost effective.

      Domanda 1

Tell me about a time when you had to communicate a change in direction that you anticipated people would have concerns with. What did you do to understand the concerns and mitigate them? Were there any changes you made along the way after hearing these concerns? How did you handle questions and/or resistance? Were you able to get people comfortable with the change?

Rigorous and involved a lot of scenario questions regarding different leadership principles. Be prepared for an extensive process of 3 different rounds including a final panel round of five consecutive hour long interviews.

      Colloquio

Terrible experience! I applied online and they reached out to me after more than 2 months, I was invited to an online 30min. interview, I connected but the recruiter never arrived. I sent them an email telling about the situation as it was all a waste of time. They responded on the same day around 2 pm., said that there was a "network problem" that mixed up the meetings, and that the only other time slot for a new interview is on the SAME DAY between 4 pm - 5pm. I found it funny that they impose an interview slot with such a short notice, even more if the mistake was on the company side. I did not bother to reply and basically forgot about it, and then a month later another recruiter reaches out for the same position. I pick a time slot (30min), they cancelled that slot and asked me to pick a new time slot, this time only for a 15 min call, which in my experience is not enough time for anything. I connect to the 15min call, the recruiter is late, her camera is off, and she says that she is sick so she prefers to keep the camera off, which is kind of annoying, normally in this kind of interviews you want to see the person's face. Anyhow... I present myself superfast (experienced Project Manager used to leading multiple teams and projects end-to-end), and when asked for my salary expectations, I told them an appropriate number. She basically tells me that my expectations are "significantly higher than their budget", I ask about the budget and she says that she is not at liberty to say. I lowered my amount gradually, just to make a sense of the budget, but when I reached 40k/year less than I wanted, it felt weird... at this point I am super surprised since there is no way a project manager makes this low amount of money in Amazon, in Luxemburg, and her answer is that Engineering Project Manager is not really a manager, her description of the position is slightly different from the job post and it sounds more like what I would call a "Project engineer/Design engineer", now the low salary of course makes sense, and it would obviously be a huge step down for me. At this point we are obviously running late, she tells me that I should have applied to a level 8 position, not to level 5... I have no f... idea what these levels mean and also I am pretty sure I didn't see anything like that on the job post, she says that in the future all jobs posts will be updated with levels... But still, a new applicant has zero idea what these levels mean, we normally only read the position title and the description. She tells me that if I want a Project Manager position, I should apply to positions that say only "Manager XXX"... and Engineering Project Manager is not that. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh at all this... I've been to start-up interviews that ware way more professional than this big Amazon corporate. Anyway, my advice to future applicants to managerial positions, watch out for the job titles and the famous levels... they are not what you think they are! Good luck!
