Amazon is a great company, however, the interview process was not as well organized as I was hoping it would be. The administrative staff, whom I spoke with throughout the process, were not fluid in their communication back and forth regarding the interview process. After having a first and second round interview over the phone, I was flown out to Seattle to partake in a third round interview. Although my flights were booked for me, I did not have my tickets until the day before they wanted me to come interview, even though I had been told almost two weeks earlier that would be coming to Seattle for a final interview. Additionally, once my tickets were actually booked, they were booked twice by two different people. To mitigate the issue, I had to contact someone from the company to cancel one of the tickets. Once I arrived in Seattle, I still had not heard from anyone about the time or place that the interview would be taking place. I phoned a few contacts at the company to try and sort the issue out, and by 5:30pm, the day before the interview, I was finally told where the interview would be held. Although the interviews each went well, I had to stay an extra day in Seattle, because my return flight conflicted with the times of my interviews. Overall, I think Amazon is a great company, but I was a bit disappointed with the lack of organization throughout the entire interview process. This was not a good first impression of a company which I was initially excited about potentially working with.
