They prepare you for the interview. Unlike most jobs you are aware of what is expected in the interview. I was invited to an interview one week after applying. My experience was overall a great one.

STAR method is a requirement. Make sure to study this. Have great stories ready to go from any job you have had. Interviews are normally done with an HR Person and the hiring manager. Also, be prepared with pen, paper and a calculator.
The Interview had math questions , behavior and situational questions. If you pass math test then hr will ask you questions based on answers you provide you may get follow up questions and then a manager will ask questions
