Colloquio
I interviewed for the CSA position (Korean Speaker) in Dublin, Ireland.
To talk about the result first, I feel really disappointed to the interviewer as I could clearly see that he wanted to make HR think I had ZERO knowledge in anything.
I got an email inviting me to an hour phone call interview. The email said to be prepared specifically for the behavioral questions (leadership principles).
When I got to the interview the interviewer said that he would be only asking technical questions today, which was a bit confusing but I said I was fine as I was confident to answer technical questions. I told him that I have interest in Networking/OS and some basic knowledge of Security Encryption topics. I went ahead and answered about every Network/OS Questions (about 10 of them) he had and 1 security question (about private public key exchange - Diffie Hillman).
After about 30-40 minutes of answering all those questions, he asked if I had any other knowledge that he should know and I told him about my projects in front end development.
I guess he didn't know specifically what a FE side does as he started asking about backend questions on servers, what AWS have I used for this, about how to manage storages which after every question I told him its closer to the backend side so I am not sure but I replied as much as I knew about them.
He started to act like I didn't answer any of him questions for the entire duration and started saying that he's not sure what he should report to HR but will continue to ask more other questions in other topics to see if you have knowledge in other subjects.
I again mentioned that I really only have knowledge about networking/os and some security topics which I really wanted to be assigned to.
He didn't care and started asking about Deployment, Databases, Web Mobile and I felt really discomfortable for the next 25 minutes or so.
After about an hour he said the allocated time was over, if I had any questions then said good luck if you get to the next round.
It felt really bad that I expected them to check on behavioral questions then during the interview just went on a different track than what I needed to prepare for the phone interview, then the interviewer clearly asking questions to make me look like I have no knowledge and forget about all the networking/os, security question that I answered.
I got an email the next day that I didn't move forward in the next process with no feedback.
Again really felt disappointed about the phone interview.
