Colloquio per Enterprise Risk Services Tech

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Deloitte (Washington, DC) nel mese di apr 2011

      Colloquio

I had 18 credits left on my undergrad degree in Information Systems at the time of my interview. I was contacted via email after a regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. I had 2 phone interviews in about a 2 week time span, followed by an offer for them to fly me out to Washington D.C. in late April for in person interviews. The activities in D.C. consisted of a dinner with a couple current Deloitte employees and a few of the job candidates, followed by a series of three 1:1 interviews the day after. Everyone was nice and showed enthusiasm for what they do. I was not able to get a clear answer for what my particular job would consist of. I had the feeling that I would get moved around without my desire. I was looking for a job that would give me a sense of control over my own career path. The interview questions were not technical. All were about what I was looking for in life and in a career. All 3 1:1 interviews felt like a conversation to me. I wanted to be myself so I did not misrepresent how I am because I don't want to work somewhere where I have to pretend to be someone else. They do give you a lot of benefits that other employers I was considering did not offer. But, I don't really see them as benefits as they are required. I was told they will send you to "Deloitte University" once a year for a copious amount of training. They do give you intensives to compete certifications. I got an offer letter about a month after the interview process started. Unfortunately, it came too late. I had quite a few job interviews around the same time and I got several offers before Deloitte was able to. I accepted an offer else where just before Deloitte finally offered. I was glad I got the other offer because I was anticipating a larger salary for the cost of living in D.C. and the amount of work expected of me at Deloitte. The other at my current job was for the exact same amount and I do exactly what I want to be doing. Everyone I talked to told me not to take the job at Deloitte because they had heard that their employees gets chewed up and spit out. The only evidence I saw of this was that all people I spoke with that were not managers/principals were around my age.
