      Colloquio

      Lengthy but enjoyable interview process for a Senior Manager role in the Healthcare practice, with 6 interview rounds over 3 months. First round with a recruiter, remaining 5 rounds with partners / principals with subject matter expertise. First few were over HireVue, but thanfully were with a live person. Remaining interviews were on Teams. No pre-recorded interviews. The convos were casual and warm. I had lots of time to ask my own questions about the industry, their leadership philosophy, and working at EY. Mostly behavioral questions. One or two short verbal case questions. I prepped by reviewing lots of their online thought leadership and referenced it throughout the interviews, which they seemed to appreciate.

      Mostly behavioral questions: Walk me through your resume. Why EY? Why consulting? What experience do you have navigating large organizations? How would you go about identifying and accessing internal resources? Describe your management style. How have you dealt with internal conflict on your teams? Case question: A health system comes to you reporting reduced revenues. They also note disparities in oncology outcomes for Black patients. What are you initial hypotheses about how EY can help them address both issues?

      Lack of early alignment between role level, responsibilities, and candidate expectations, which made it difficult to understand where I realistically fit in the process Insufficient transparency around interview purpose and seniority of the roles being assessed, which created confusion about what stage was actually evaluating Shifting role direction during the process (different levels discussed at different stages), rather than a consistent hiring path Compensation expectations were not clearly addressed upfront, despite being shared early in the process Overall process felt unstructured in terms of matching candidate profile to the right role level before progressing through interviews, which made the experience feel somewhat inefficient and frustrating as a candidate

      A screening call from friendly HR staff in the Philipines, follow HR screening by UK based HR staff, 1st competency screening 60 mins, 2nd competency screening 90 mins, from the 1st competency screening the interview coordination became hectic as if they didn't not comunicate internally, different people were invited to interview and different people joined, the focus on interview was completely different to what it was mentioned by their HR. Lack of coordination by the HR was outrageous.
