The process is highly structured and efficient. It began with a screening call with a Talent Acquisition lead based overseas. This initial round focused on logical communication, English proficiency, and basic marketing mindset. After passing the screening, a Recruiting Coordinator from the APAC region handled the scheduling for the next round with a local Hiring Manager in Tokyo. The communication is professional and transparent, but they set a high bar for "Best-in-class" marketing standards.

I interviewed for two marketing specialist positions at Gartner. Both positions had a three step interview process with a final project at the end. On the first position I had made it to the end and submitted my project, yet had to continually follow up more than a week after submission to hear back that that had moved forward with another candidate even though I was one of the finalists. The HR representative had like me so she was able to find me another similar position she felt I’d be a good fit for. This process was much worse than the one for the first position. Not only did I have to continually follow up before and after each of the three interviews without hearing back for some time to make it through all three. Once I became a finalist they purposely gave me just one afternoon to create and entire presentation to attract a new company to their conference. It was incredibly disrespectful to my time as an applicant to give me needlessly so little time. When presenting the project the following day I was asked why certain specific aspects were not as fleshed out as they could have been. This was very obviously due to the unnecessary time constraint. They attempted to justify this constraint by saying tight deadlines like this are inevitable at their company. To anyone who has worked on projects such as these, you should know the only reason such a constraint would exist is due to poor management. Imagine presenting to a huge company like Google and saying you only spent a single afternoon on preparation. This all reflected very poorly on the managers and company but to make matters worse after over two weeks that still have not followed up with me as they said they would. Even if they offered me the position at this time I would not take it. Nor would I accept another interview for another position.
