Very poor experience. After applying, I received an email to arrange a call, along with material about the company to review (that I was hardly questioned about). My recruiter seemed proactive in responding initially, which made me excited to learn more about career opportunities with the company. During my phone screen, we spoke for a total of about an hour. Was asked a series of standard questions, but when we got to the salary, the recruiter provided me with a significantly lower pay range than what was listed on the job posting, which I found insulting. She brushed this off in a very condescending way and continued to ask questions, however when I circled back to inquire the flexibility of the range, she acknowledged my transferable skills and experience, and advised me that I’d hear back in 5 business days after she’d review further with the team. After the interview, I sent a follow-up email thanking the interviewer, along with supporting documents for further review - no response or acknowledgment. A week later, I sent another follow-up email requesting an update.. no response to that either. Just received an automated rejection email the following week with no feedback. As a former recruiter who has prided myself in providing an exceptional candidate experience and acknowledging those who’ve taken the time out of their lives to interview, I found this all very disappointing, which deterred any interest I had for working for Garnter.
My recruiter was careless, lazy and could not even do the bare minimum, which negatively reflects the company and speaks volumes around their recruiting standards and the expectation they set around communicating to job seekers. This is not a company I’d ever want to work for and I can now understand their high turnover in the area.
