Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Gartner nel mese di gen 2015
Colloquio
My experience overall was a positive one, but for the sake of ease the positive and negative aspects of the process are outlined below:
Positive:
- Incredibly efficient. I was emailed within minutes of submitting my CV, an initial phone screen took place the next day, followed by two further telephone interviews (one with HR, one with Manager) over the following two days.
- Both HR and Managers do their very best to give you both positive and negative (but constructive) feedback through the course of the process. This gives you clear areas to focus on at the next stage and an opportunity to control your own destiny.
- They claim that they want every candidate to come away from the experience, whether successful or not, having learned something about themselves. I'd say that they achieved this aim with me. I found it challenging and it forced me to think a great deal about what I want from my job and career.
Negative:
- I didn't feel there was a huge amount done to convince me why I should be joining them. The process was incredibly one sided toward ascertaining if I was a fit for them and not vice versa. Despite saying that you need to push for information etc. I don't feel management were particularly clear about what the culture is like, what the career opportunities are etc. I actually asked them what makes Gartner a great place to work and the answer was full of platitudes.
- It's all a bit serious! This process could be 10x more fun if they let people express themselves a bit more. I don't feel like I got to know the managers or recruiters I spoke to at all, which to me is a really important part of an interview process. I also don't think they really got to know me at all, which, if it applies to all candidates, seems a pretty risky hiring policy.

Has anyone ever given you advice at work that you've disagreed with? How did you handle it?

Lengthy interview process yet, regardless of your level of interest, is great practice experience. Probably a 5-6 step interview process over maybe 2-4 weeks:
Brief chat with recruiter
follow-up call with recruiter for short "role-play" with goal to schedule 'next meeting' which is super generalized (basic sales intro role-play)
an optional connect with recently hired employee (not required, simply something the recruiter offered)
a video group panel interview (I can't remember if this is before or after other steps)
video interview with only aligned VP (there are a lot of Sales VPs at the org, don't let the acronym freak you out)
a "role-play interview" where you pitch the product (general understanding of Gartner that can be gained through simple research/due diligence).
- If I remember correctly, the offer to "join the team" is given at the end of this call. In my experience, if you provide a verbal "yes, I'm interested in joining" then you are locked into whatever compensation the recruiter and you initially discussed despite thinking the negotiation part was still an option.
In the interview process, they ask a lot about "your why." What motivates you, why you're driven, etc. This was an incredible influential aspect of the interview process and what they prioritize, so make sure you're prepared.
The recruiter was helpful in preparing for each step. She would join to observe steps of the interview and provide constructive feedback.
Marking as "difficult" only because I wasn't fully accustomed to the length of the process. It does require due diligence which may be an area of opportunity for some.

I had 4 interviews, 3 by phone and the last one, the panel interview at the egham's office.
As an advice I can say that you should trust yourself, be natural if sales is what you love and go for it.
The last interview is the one that really made realise that Gartner was THE company I wanted to work for.
It was a very enjoyable experience, where I learned a lot about myself and all the people I talked to were very professional and helpful.

The interview process started with an informal call with a talent sources. Next a call with a recruiter, focusing on Gartner's 4 Traits and a 10min. role play (discovery call). The 3rd step was a video call with the recruiting director, roughly same structure and questions as previous steps, including the role play. Last round was a panel interview at the Gartner offices, with two hiring managers and my recruiter.
