Colloquio
I went through three rounds of interviews here. I was told I'd be called in to meet the hiring manager as the final stage off the process, but then they told me that there was a change of plans and that instead they'd like me to meet a senior technical recruiter for a "life story" interview. This felt weird as I did not understand why they changed the scheduled plan. This interviewer was not very professional. Stopping to chat with the office manager for some time instead of greeting me in the waiting room in front of me, and then in the interview never bothered to dig deep enough to get to know me as a person. It seemed like it was very surface level and generic. I wasn't aske any questions about what impact I've actually made in my previous jobs. I'm not sure the interviewer really knows how to read people because the opinions were absolutely biased. Later the interviewers said I'd get a follow up before the end of the week, which never happened. I then requested feedback but no one got back to me still. Another week went by and finally the interviewer sent me a rejection email without any explanation of why I was not selected for the job. For busy professionals who take time out of their day to interview at the "supposed" company who's core value in being genuine you'd think they would care enough to at least provide genuine feedback to candidates would you? I still have no idea why they didn't choose me. I feel like Shopify was the least professional company I ever interviewed at and I would never want to work there if this is an example of how they treat people.

The hiring process felt disorganized, with no clear direction from the teams conducting the interviews. It was apparent that they were unsure about the exact role they were hiring for, which raised concerns about internal alignment and decision-making. This lack of structure makes it feel like job security could be tenuous, as there doesn't seem to be a strong company culture or processes in place to support or protect employees.
Additionally, post-interview communication was poor. There was no follow-up or feedback, and ultimately, I was left without any closure or response, which felt unprofessional.

The experience was great and the interviewer was nice and patient. I did three rounds of interviews and still waiting to hear back. I will add another update soon. Shopify is definitely up there

I applied online and about a month later their recruiter reached out to have a quick video call. About a week later they scheduled two back to back interviews. One was a Life Story interview with the same recruiter, the second a portfolio review with one of their designers.
The interviews were pretty casual. I was asked to prepare 1 or 2 portfolio pieces to talk through my process.
I thought it went well, but then I received a rejection email because they wanted more clarity regarding my process presenting to stakeholders. It's such a specific topic and I politely replied that if they wanted me to talk about that then they should've brought it up during the interview or asked me to elaborate in a follow up email.
